Sean Porter is an American Cinematographer born in Tacoma, Washington.  His DP career began crammed in the back of a small VW bus on Linas Phillips’ Bass Ackwards which premiered at Sundance NEXT, followed by several other Sundance debuts including Eliza Hittman’s It Felt Like Love and the Zellner Brothers’ Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter.  He then shot two back-to-back award winning films; Jeremy Saulnier’s cult thriller Green Room, and Mike Mills’ 20th Century Women.  Sean went on to partner with Peter Farrelly on Green Book, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2018.  Shortly after the two re-teamed for Apple’s Vietnam-era The Greatest Beer Run Ever.  Spanning more than 2 years, Sean and director Jon Watts began their collaboration on FX’s acclaimed series The Old Man, for which Sean received the ASC Award for best cinematography on a TELEVISION pilot.  Most recently the duo completed principal photography on Lucasfilm’s newest Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew.  When not in the far reaches of the galaxy Sean resides in Ashland, Oregon with his family.
